Cuestiones relativas a la incorporación de espacios fronterizos al Estado-Nacion. Chaco occidental, 1862-1911

RESUMEN
Se propone el estudio del proceso de incorporación de las tierras del Chaco occidental en el marco de la conformación del estado nacional y de las políticas de negociación y acuerdos que permiten el consenso sobre el nuevo orden, consolidando la unión nacional sobre un modelo económico agroexportador que privilegia al litoral Atlántico, pero que a la vez garantiza ciertos intereses regionales y la participación en la política nacional de las elites provinciales.
Partimos de una problemática específica de la incorporación de un espacio de "frontera interna", el Chaco salteño, articulando el trabajo en torno a las siguientes preguntas:
¿Qué papel jugaron las tierras de frontera con el Chaco en las economías de Salta y Jujuy y en el nuevo modelo nacional? ¿Qué intereses y protagonismo tuvieron las elites saltojujeñas en la expansión de la frontera? ¿qué posibilidad tenían de influir en la política nacional? ¿en qué medida había correspondencia entre los intereses regionales y "nacionales"?
Por último, la constitución de la nación requería crear un sentimiento de identidad nacional que se correspondiese con la pertenencia a una unidad política. Se hacía entonces necesario crear elementos identitarios comunes y minimizar la heterogeneidad cultural. ¿qué medidas se impulsaron desde el estado a fin de lograrlo entre los aborígenes chaqueños? ¿Qué lugar se les asignó a éstos en el estado-nación que estaba constituyéndose?
ABSTRACT
Subjects related to the incorporation of the frontier areas to the state-nation Occidental Chaco
It proposes the study of the process of incorporation of the occidental Chaco lands in the frame of the conformation of the national state and of the political nogotiations and agreements that allow the consent of the new order, consolidating the national union upon and ecconomic agroexporting model that grants a privilege to the Atlantic shore, but at the same time, guarantees certain regional interests and the participation in the national policy of the provincial êlites.
We state from a specific problem of the incorporation of a space of "internal frontier" the salteño Chaco, articulating the work around the following questions: What rôle did the frontier lands play together with El Chaco in the economies of Salta and Jujuy and in the new model? What interest and protagonist rôle did the saltojujeña êlites have in the expansion of the frontier? What influence did they have on the national policy? In what measure was there correspondence between the regional and national interests?
At last, the constitution of the nation required to create a feeling of national identity that would correspond with the ownerships of a political unity. It was necessary, then, to create elements of common identity and minimize the cultural heterogeneity. What measures were taken from the state in order to attain this among the chaqueños indians? What place was given to them in the state nation that was being built up?
