Estrategias de inserción territorial de inmigrantes chilenos en San Carlos de Bariloche: estudio preliminar
RESUMEN
Este trabajo constituye una aproximación al análisis del fenómeno inmigratorio chileno en el noroeste de la Patagonia. El universo de estudio se acota a los inmigrantes que residen en contextos de pobreza. Indagamos los motivos por los cuales permanecen en Argentina, a pesar de las duras condiciones de vida que llevan, que no parecen diferir de aquellas que llevaban en su país.
Para ello, estudiamos el proceso de localización de la inmigración chilena en la ciudad de San Carlos de Bariloche, intentando reconstruir el modo en que se dio la inserción territorial. A su vez analizamos los requisitos legales que deben cumplir y las estrategias que desarrollan para ser admitidos como residentes permanentes en Argentina.
ABSTRACT
This work constitutes an approach to the analysis of the Chilean immigration phenomenon in the north-west of Patagonia. The studied universe is limited to the immigrants that live in poverty contexts. We search for the motivations that make them stay in Argentina in spite of their hard living conditions, which do not seem to differ much respect to those in their own country.
We investigate the process of localization of Chilean immigration in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche, trying to reconstruct the way by which their territorial insertion was accomplished. Moreover, we analyze the legal requirements that they must observe and the strategies that they develop to be admitted as permanent residents in Argentina.
